There’s no denying it: video content is huge and it’s here to stay. According to Crisco, 82% of consumer internet traffic will come from videos in 2022, more than 15 times higher than in 2017. With stats like that it’s impossible to deny video is necessary to every brand’s marketing strategy in 2020.
Thanks to the proliferation of entertainment streaming services like YouTube and Netflix, consumers are well versed in navigating video content online. This, along with advances in technology such as speedy internet connections, availability of mobile devices and integrated video capabilities, has created an audience absolutely primed for video consumption. Not convinced? It’s estimated the world watches 1 billion hours of YouTube videos alone every day! That’s a lot of people watching a lot of video.
As a digital marketing tool it’s incredibly versatile, engaging and dynamic, with an increased likelihood for sharing compared to text or images. The rapid growth of video consumption online makes it the fastest growing digital channel for digital marketing and a super important tool for any business. Considering social media posts with video have 48% more views (HubSpot), it’s undeniably the content to focus on in 2020.
Here at Red Lips Media, we know how important it is to tailor video to your brand to make sure you are using the right type of content for your business’ needs. According to the Wyzowl State of Video Marketing Survey 2020, 92% of marketers agree that video is an important part of their marketing strategy, up from 78% in 2015. To make sure you stand out from the crowd it’s important to understand what will work best for your business. Luckily for you, we’ve put together a list of different types of video content and how they can work best for you!
For SWS Group, we created a two-minute corporate film to give customers an in-depth look into who they are as a business. We focused on high quality production for this to showcase who they are and position the business as a leader in their field. We also created three separate 30-second clips to accompany this which are perfect for embedding bite sized pieces of information into strategic points on their website. Watch the full video here.
We’ve also been filming fun videos for one of our clients’ social media feed, just using the trusty iPhone. These short, sharp and funny videos have been super popular with followers and have given customers an insight into the personalities behind the brand. While these are more casual than a full promotional video, they are still high quality and in line with the brand’s strategy. Have a look (and a giggle) at some of these videos here.
Our Digital iMotion videos are great for updating audiences on a regular basis and for creating a library of content that can be used on social media or housed on your website. These can utilise existing photos and sales messages in a video format to inform your customers or followers of important updates. This is a perfect option for informative videos without full production.
Last, but certainly not least, we love using Instagram Stories to shoot our own behind the scenes content on the go here at Red Lips Media HQ. We speak directly to the camera, giving our followers an insight into the people behind the brand as well as any exciting things we get up to in the office. This is the perfect way to really humanise your brand and stay relevant with new updates to the platform. Be sure to follow us on Instagram to see how it’s done!
